About

I'm currently working towards a PhD in the Centre for Doctoral Training in Biomedical Artificial Intelligence at The University of Edinburgh.

My research background is in Neurorobotics, which is a field that sits at the interface of Neuroscience, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. I'm particularly interested in applying these methods into the areas of mental health and psychiatry.

When not in the lab I enjoy photography and writing as ways to keep my creative soul happy, whilst running and dance help keep my heart and health happy :)

I hold an MPhil in Neurorobotics from The University of Sheffield (2018-2020) where I was a member of the Sheffield Machine Learning Group and Sheffield Robotics, and also part-funded by the EU's Human Brain Project. My thesis supervisors were Prof. Eleni Vasilaki and Prof. Tony Prescott. My work here focused on computational modelling of hippocampal-striatal interactions, and embodying these models in robots for robotic reinforcement learning.

Prior to this I earned an MSc in Computational Intelligence and Robotics at The University of Sheffield (2016-2017), where I won the Nicholson Prize for Masters Studies (top overall performance across the department and joint best thesis). My thesis work involved the implementation of computer vision robotic detection, with the goal of developing and analysing collective behaviours in animal-like robots. And prior to this I earned a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University (2012-2016), with an emphasis on robotics and control systems engineering. My performance won me a Sheffield Postgraduate Scholarship (£10k) for postgraduate studies at The University of Sheffield.
